In July, the Rappenalp Valley gained a further attraction: the new educational trail on culture and ecology in the Allg\u00e4u High Alps. An attraction that does more than document itself on the 6.5 km circular trail wending its way through the magnificent scenery of the High Alps. Thanks to the excellent explanations provided on the trail, hikers soon learn to appreciate the amazing ecosystem in the High Alps. The nine stations on the trail draw their attention to the symbiosis that exists between the flora and fauna in this region. The MARGARETE M\u00dcLLER-BULL FOUNDATION supported the establishment of the educational trail with a generous donation to the Naturschutzstiftung Allg\u00e4uer Hochalpen [Allg\u00e4u High Alpine Nature Conservation Foundation], in keeping with our founder\u2019s desire to encourage admiration for the beauties of nature. The individual stations also provide a wealth of information about the history and culture of the more than 1,000 h area covered by the trail. Explanations are given on the flora and fauna, as well as insights into the customs and livelihoods of the region\u2019s inhabitants. The connection between the alpine economy and tourism is clearly revealed, and how important it is to protect the region\u2019s flora and fauna. A representative of the MARGARETE M\u00dcLLER-BULL FOUNDATION was invited to attend the opening of the educational trail. Together with Klaus King, the mayor of Oberstdorf, and Bettina and Manfred Kurrle from the Naturschutzstiftung Allg\u00e4uer Hochalpen, the educational trail was officially opened to visitors in the presence of journalists.<\/p>\n
