The Nymphaea zoo in Esslingen is small yet refined. The park is run primarily by voluntary helpers and offers visitors of all ages a fascinating insight into the animal and plant world. A generous donation from the Margarete Müller-Bull Foundation has now enabled old ramshackle benches to be replaced and new benches to be installed at new locations. A beautiful wood pavilion has also been added which offers shelter on rainy days and shade on sunny days. However, the majority of the donation was used for the new eagle owl aviary. This largest species of owl now has a modern and spacious place to live.
Members of the executive board and foundation board came together with the aquarium and terrarium association (Aquarien- und Terrarienverein) to celebrate the installation of the Nymphaea pavilion and benches in early summer 2012.
